Kyle R. Kirkland
Chairman of the Board and Director, SMI
Kyle Kirkland has served as a director of the Company
since 1993 and as Chairman of the Board since 1996. He
has been a principal of Kirkland Messina, Inc. since 1994.
From 1991 to 1994, Kyle was a Senior Vice President of
a Los Angeles-based investment bank where he was responsible
for its private placement financing activities. From 1990
to 1991, he was employed by Canyon Partners as a Vice President.
Prior to Canyon Partners, Kyle was employed by an investment
banking firm in its High Yield Bond Department.
Kyle received his BA degree in economics from Harvard University
and his MBA from Stanford University. Age: 44.
